Project Description

This project is a long-term initiative to support research conducted by Indigenous researchers for Indigenous communities and Buffalo Treaty signatories that focuses on the rematriation of the buffalo and the support of buffalo consciousness. Specific projects under this network include intergenerational knowledge transfer opportunities for knowledge holders to share and pass on stories and land-based buffalo knowledge in community. There will also be a focus on relationship building, finding commonalities and identifying research strengths, and supporting Buffalo Treaty Gatherings, with follow up to initialize community-led research projects.
